Postel Abbey & Eersel, February 2008 - Page 6

I joined an ING excursion to the Postel Abbey located in Mol, Belgium, on Saturday, 23 February. We toured the abbey and sampled the Postel cheese and Postel beer. Then, we visited a small village, Eersel, Netherlands for a walk around the center.

Sean Leather > A map providing some perspective on the Postel Abbey. You can see that the Netherlands border is not very far away. There's also an arrow pointing northeast towards Eersel where we head next.

Sean Leather > We next took our bus to Eersel in the Netherlands. At one time, this town was popular, because it lay at a popular crossroads. Now, it's just quaint.

Sean Leather > Eersel has many cafes. A cafe in the NL is more like a pub than a restaurant. This is the Hotel Eetcafe de Bengel.

Sean Leather > Cafe de Meert: another cafe in Eersel.

Sean Leather > Outside cafe seating with flowers.

Sean Leather > A store called "The Kangaroo." I don't know what it sells, though.

Sean Leather > Eersel has its own street-side sign informing you of the direction of interesting places in town.

Sean Leather > After walking around some more, Rodrigo and I went to the place in the center left to get a snack.
