Elizabeth and I visited Costa Rica for two weeks. This is the first two days of that trip. We flew from Austin (me) and St. Louis (Elizabeth) to
Dallas/Fort Worth, then flew to
Juan Santamaría. We stayed overnight with my friend Kelly, and she took us to the
University for Peace and around downtown San José.
The following paintings are in the Galería Enrique Echandi in the Teatro Nacional. According to the plaque, Enrique Echandi "was born and died in San José, Costa Rica (1866 - 1959). He studied history arts in Germany: Leipzig and Munich (1888 - 1890). Back to Costa Rica, he dedicated his life to music and painting, and other cultural activities. He received many awards."
