Ghent & Bruges with Darshana, March 2008 - Page 9 - Sean Leather's Photos

Darshana and I took a weekend to visit the beautiful Ghent and Bruges in Belgium. Both cities are very nice, and each is worth at least a day of sightseeing. We took the train from Utrecht to Ghent on the morning of Saturday, 15 March. In the evening, we left Ghent and went to Bruges by train. We stayed overnight and left Bruges on Sunday afternoon. We both enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Sean Leather > After the Choco Story, we go on a scavenger hunt for a place with good (and preferably spicy) hot chocolate. In the end, we see most of the center of Bruges, and we do find some good hot chocolate (though it's not spicy like I wanted). So, now we say goodbye to the Bruges belfy here. Another tourist with a Nikon D40 camera like mine took this.

Sean Leather > From Bruges, we went via the Antwerp station, shown here. It's a nice looking place.

Sean Leather > There were a number of these kama sutra ads for a lottery. Quite hilarious, I thought.

Sean Leather > The outside of the Antwerp station. And that brings us to the end of the photo tour. We headed back towards Utrecht via Rotterdam. Unfortunately, we discovered that there was something going on with the track to Rotterdam on the Netherlands side, so we had quite an adventure there. They unloaded everyone at a small town. Then, they loaded us all onto (a large number of) buses, and ported us to some other small town, where we were able to catch a train to Rotterdam. So, what took us 3 hours one way, took us 8+ the other.
