Sean Leather > Some kind of plant. I don't remember what kind. It might be one of several geophytes that we saw, though it appears similar to aloe.
Sean Leather > The Cradle of Humankind is rich in flowering plants, with many geophytes (plants with underground bulbs or tubers) that require fires for their propagation. Most of the woody plants are found in sinkholes and ravines where the destructive effects of fire and frost are minimised.The dolomic sinkholes which are common in the area provide deep soils and moist, cool conditions suitable for a diversity of trees, such as white stinkwood and shrubs. The area is also rich in medicinal plants.
Sean Leather > Dr. Broom and I were good buddies from the old days, although he seemed to get ahead in life better than I have.
